COM Port doesn't Exist or Appear
No COM port could be installed or doesn't exist in your application (navigation software, directions, etc.) or appears in the device manager!
Please install the latest driver on your system, which you can find on our website. This is the solution in most cases.
The driver installation failed nevertheless, because no COM and LPT ports are available on your computer (eg. netbooks). Should the driver couldn't be installed as usual, you solve this problem by the following description.
1.Open the "Device Manager" at Start - Control Panel - System - Device Manager
2.Click with the right mouse button on the computer name and choose "Add Legacy Hardware" and possibly "Resume"
3."Next"
4."Hardware manually select from a list ....." and "Next"
5."Ports (COM & LPT)" and "Next"
6.(Standard port types) and then "Communications Port" and "Next"
7."Next", "Next", "Finish"
8.Restart the computer
Follow these steps with Windows Vista and XP:
(For Windows XP is analogous Windows Vista!)
1.Open the Start "Control Panel" (Classic View)
2."Hardware" and possibly "Resume"
3.Third "Next"
4."Hardware manually select from a list ....." and "Next"
5."Ports (COM & LPT)" and "Next"
6.(Standard port types) and then "Communications Port" and "Next"
7."Next", "Next", "Finish"
8.Restart the computer
In the category "Ports (COM & LPT)" will now be available in the device manager. Install the latest drivers again and the COM will be displayed.
